Real Madrid beat Levante 2-0 on Saturday, and in only his second match in charge Alvaro Arbeloa defended Vinicius after jeers at the Bernabeu.
According to L'Équipe, sections of the Santiago-Bernabeu whistled the Brazilian, who did not score but completed a second successive full match.
Appointed after Xabi Alonso’s departure, Arbeloa has signalled he is counting on the forward. Vinicius has 5 Liga goals this season and 45 caps for Brazil with 8 goals.
After the game, Arbeloa said his priority is to bring the best out of Vinicius and he will ask team-mates to give him the ball as often as possible, calling him the most destabilising player in the world.
He added that Vinicius embodies Real Madrid, citing his dribbling, audacity and ability to stand out, and said he is proud to coach him. Arbeloa believes the forward will help the club win many more titles, as he already has.
