Ander to leave Boca early after Arruabarrena decision | OneFootball

According to as.com, Ander Herrera will not continue at Boca, despite six months left on his deal. The parties are set to part amicably after learning incoming coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena will not count on the midfielder once his appointment is announced.

The former Athletic and Manchester United player has instructed his representative to begin talks to terminate his contract without an abrupt exit.

His departure is to happen before the agreement ends in December, with the Argentine club undergoing major changes after recent blows, including elimination from the Libertadores and then dropping into the Sudamericana.

Herrera joined in January 2025 to fulfil his ambition of playing for one of Argentina’s biggest clubs. The signing drew attention given his long career in Europe. Injuries repeatedly disrupted his rhythm.

He made 29 appearances and scored one goal, in the Libertadores. His exit will free a foreign player slot for Boca.
