According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Anton Stach has posted a concerning image of his badly swollen right ankle after Leeds United’s FA Cup quarter-final win at West Ham.
The midfielder was forced off in the 39th minute following a heavy challenge from Max Kilman moments after getting a shot away on the counter. He briefly returned but was soon replaced by Brenden Aaronson.
The tie was settled by Pascal Struijk converting the decisive penalty. After the match, Daniel Farke said Stach had been caught on the ankle, suggested a possible ligament issue, and stressed the extent still needed assessing, while hoping it was not serious.
On Instagram, Stach also shared the club’s celebratory post captioned “What an Easter Sunday”. A subsequent story showed his swollen right ankle alongside the words “stop acting”, hinting that the injury’s severity had been questioned.
Further checks are planned once the swelling subsides this week, and Stach is a major doubt to face Manchester United next Monday.
Leeds’ concerns grew when Joe Rodon appeared to roll his ankle in the second half and was replaced by Sebastiaan Bornauw after an awkward landing. Noah Okafor later went off with what Farke believed were cramps after his long absence, and the manager noted there is time before the next game.
