In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Arsenal are hoping to land Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are eyeing a move to bring the Brazilian talent to the Emirates Stadium this off-season.

Guimaraes’ Impressive Form In English Football

Guimaraes has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Tyneside club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The 28-year-old has scored nine goals and secured seven assists in 36 matches for Newcastle this season across all fronts.

When fit, the Brazilian midfield ace remains one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, Arsenal would do well to snap him up in the upcoming transfer window.

His current contract at St. James’ Park will run out in the summer of 2028, which could make it tough for the Gunners to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Is Guimaraes A Good Option For Arsenal?

Guimaraes is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The Brazilian talent has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. Guimaraes is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life in England.

We can expect Guimaraes to add more quality and depth to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield. He is good enough to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium next season.

At 28, Guimaraes is playing in his prime, which makes him a decent option for the North London club to consider at the end of this campaign. He might even help the Gunners challenge for some major trophies in the coming years. Thus, Arteta would be wise to go all out to sign him on the cheap this summer.
