Fantastic recent record against Chelsea, but "that doesn't change the preparation" says Gunners' boss Arteta

Arsenal face the latest test of their Premier League title credentials as they host rivals Chelsea while looking to extend their advantage over Manchester City back to five points.

Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to build on the momentum of a resounding 4-1 win at Tottenham last weekend and respond to title challengers City’s 1-0 win at Leeds yesterday. Chelsea, meanwhile, are locked in a battle for the top-five after dropping more points in frustrating fashion in a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Burnley last week.

Liam Rosenior’s side lost a Carabao Cup semi-final to Arsenal last month and will also be determined to offer more than they did last time out at the Gunners, who enjoy an impressive recent record against their London rivals. Arsenal are unbeaten in eight games against Chelsea while winning their last three against the Blues in the Premier League.

Arsenal land dream Champions League draw as path to final revealed

Arsenal have landed a dream Champions League draw and will not need to face a traditional heavyweight before the semi-finals, while the five other English sides all face potentially daunting ties from the last 16 onwards.

The Premier League leaders now have an excellent opportunity to go on a run in this season’s competition and will play Bayer Leverkusen in the last 16 before either Sporting or Norway’s Bodo/Glimt, who will attempt to continue their fairytale run after knocking out last year’s finalists Inter.

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior says ‘tough guy’ Wesley Fofana ‘absolutely fine’ after racist abuse

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has described defender Wesley Fofana as a "tough guy" who is "absolutely fine" after the player was subjected to racist abuse online following Saturday’s draw with Burnley.

Fofana shared the hateful messages he received in the hours after being shown a red card during the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The UK Football Policing Unit has confirmed it is investigating the incident, alongside other reports of abuse over the past week.
