AS Monaco resumed work on the pitch on Wednesday morning at La Turbie, their first session under new head coach Filipe Luis after two days of medical testing. According to Nice-Matin, it marked the squad’s return to group training.

Luis set the tone by joining certain drills to demonstrate the intensity he expects. He was supported by assistants Ivan Palanco and fitness coach Diogo Linhares, while new goalkeeping coach Jyri Nieminen worked separately with five keepers, Lukas Hradecky, Philipp Köhn, Radoslaw Majecki, Yann Lienard and Jules Stawiecki.

New signings Flavio Nazinho, Mathys Detourbet and Sadibou Sané trained with the group. Paul Pogba, Ansu Fati, Vanderson, Mika Biereth, Eric Dier and Thilo Kehrer were also involved.

Takumi Minamino and Mohammed Salisu were back on the grass after suffering cruciate ligament ruptures. It remains to be seen whether they can complete the full sessions yet.

Director General Thiago Scuro and Technical Director Carlos Avina observed part of the workout from the touchline. Luis is due to be presented to the media early on Wednesday afternoon, with Scuro also set to take questions on the ongoing transfer window. Monaco’s full pre-season programme is scheduled to be released at noon on Wednesday.
