Auston Trusty: We're focused on getting a positive Europa League result | OneFootball

Auston Trusty says Celtic will arrive at the De Kuip stadium in Rotterdam on Thursday night with full belief and a clear objective as the Hoops prepare to face Feyenoord in the Europa League.

Speaking at the stadium tonight, the defender reflected on the impact Martin O’Neill has made since stepping in as interim manager, praising the clarity and stability the coaching staff have brought in recent weeks.

“I think Martin and the team have come in and done a really good job,” the US international defender said.  “They’ve helped us propel and get into a better state than we were at the time, so it’s good.”

With another important European fixture ahead, Trusty underlined the mindset within the squad.

“You don’t play the game not to win,” he said. “The mindset from all the players to the staff and everyone involved is to win the game and to perform well.

“The only thing in my mind is to win and get positive results. You can’t think about the future. We have a game tomorrow and that’s what we’re focused on and that’s the next objective.”

Tomorrow’s match will be Trusty’s first experience of playing in the Netherlands, and the American is relishing the opportunity to step into one of Europe’s most iconic and atmospheric stadiums.

“I’ve heard it’s a good atmosphere,” he added. “It’s my first time in the country here too, so I’m excited for it.”
