Ayew rescues late point for Leicester City at Hillsborough | OneFootball

Leicester City drew 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday as Jordan Ayew's late equaliser kept the visitors 22nd and the hosts bottom in the Championship.

Jerry Yates turned in from a corner in the second minute to give The Owls an ideal start.

Pierce Charles kept them in front, saving from Luke Thomas (44.) and Harry Winks (56.) as The Foxes pressed.

After Ayew's introduction, The Foxes twice hit the frame: he glanced a header against the left post (70.) and Thomas struck the bar (79.). Ayew then drilled in from outside the box after Patson Daka's headed pass (84.).

Eight minutes of second half stoppage time were indicated, and Charles clawed away Ayew's header in the seventh minute of second half stoppage time.

The Foxes finished with 24 attempts, 12 on target, and 10 corners, but were repeatedly thwarted by the goalkeeper. The Owls registered six attempts and made 37 clearances.

The Owls visit Coventry City next. The Foxes host Swansea City next.
