Barcelona may finally be edging towards a long-awaited resolution regarding Ansu Fati, with fresh developments suggesting that his future could lie away from the club sooner rather than later.
According to a recent update from SPORT, AS Monaco are increasingly convinced by the Spaniard’s performances during his loan spell and are now preparing to explore a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
Ansu’s time in Ligue 1 has not been flawless, but there are clear signs of progress.
The forward has managed to rebuild rhythm and confidence after a difficult period at Barcelona, where injuries and inconsistency disrupted his development.
The outlet reports that Monaco’s sporting department is satisfied enough to consider activating the purchase option included in his loan agreement.
While the exact structure of the clause remains undisclosed, estimates suggest the deal could be worth around €11 million.
Looking at the numbers, Ansu’s contribution has been effective.
Across 24 appearances, he has registered nine goals and accumulated close to 1,000 minutes of action in France’s top flight.
While he may not yet be the same explosive talent who once broke through at Barcelona, there is a growing sense that he is rediscovering his identity as a forward.

At Monaco, he has been given the platform to play regularly, something that had become increasingly difficult at Barcelona.
There is also a crucial detail that could accelerate negotiations.
As such, Ansu himself is open to leaving Barcelona permanently and continuing his journey with Monaco.
However, the situation is far from straightforward, as Monaco are reportedly hesitant to meet the €11 million valuation in full and are instead hoping to negotiate a reduced fee.
Another complication is Ansu’s current contract with Barcelona, which runs until 2028 and includes wages that exceed Monaco’s current structure.
Resolving this gap will be essential if both clubs are to reach a final agreement.
For now, Barcelona have chosen to remain silent publicly, but there is an understanding that a solution must be found.
Relations between the two clubs are described as positive, which could help smooth negotiations in the coming weeks.
