Hull City are interested in a January move for Burnley defender Bashir Humphreys
Bashir Humphreys has emerged as a potential January transfer option for Hull City amid uncertainty over his Burnley future.
It has been exclusively revealed by Football League World that the Tigers are one of a number of clubs eyeing a loan deal for the defender in the new year.
The centre-back has struggled for game time in Scott Parker’s side so far this season, with the team competing in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old made 25 appearances in the Championship in the previous campaign, helping the Clarets to promotion, but his lack of game time in the top flight could lead to an exit from Turf Moor.
Here we use estimated figures from Capology to compare Humphreys’ wages at Burnley with the top earners in the Hull first team squad…

Humphreys made the permanent switch to Burnley only last summer, having previously spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Turf Moor.
The defender arrived from Chelsea on a temporary basis in August 2024, and he proved himself as a useful member of Parker’s squad.
It was reported that the move cost the Clarets up to £12 million, with the potential for that to increase by a further £2.7 million through add-ons.
Humphreys agreed to a contract that runs until the summer of 2029 as part of his permanent move to Burnley.
As part of that contract, the defender agreed to terms worth £40,000 per week, the equivalent of £2 million-a-year.
However, Humphreys is far from the highest earner at the Premier League club, with Kyle Walker receiving £75,000 per week since arriving in the summer from Manchester City.
Other high earners in Parker’s side include Lesley Ugochukwu and Josh Cullen, with the pair receiving £55,000-a-week.
It’s believed that Hull are interested in a loan deal for the former Chelsea player, so it remains unclear how much of his salary they would pay, if they won the race to his signature in January.

If the Tigers agreed to pay the full £40,000 per week that Humphreys earns at Burnley, then he would be receiving more than the highest paid permanent member of their squad.
Ryan Giles is currently paid £35,000 per week, giving him a higher salary than any other permanent part of Sergej Jakirovic’s team.
The full-back is enjoying a strong campaign after struggling in previous years at the MKM Stadium.
The 25-year-old signed for the Championship side in 2024, initially joining on loan before agreeing to a permanent move from Luton Town.
Brandon Williams is the next highest earner at Hull, with the former Manchester United player receiving £30,000 per week following his arrival as a free agent in August.
Oli McBurnie, Semi Ajayi and Matt Crooks round out the top five earners in Jakirovic’s side, with the former paid £17,500 per week and the latter duo both receiving £15,000 per week.
