Benfica are not expected to sign a striker before the end of the winter window after missing out on Lucca. According to Glorioso 1904, the club do not see a new forward as necessary at this stage.

In Lorenzo Lucca’s case, Benfica lost the race, with the Italian joining Nottingham Forest on loan from Napoli. Financial demands prevented any agreement on the Portuguese side.

Jeff Ekhator is a different dossier. The young Genoa forward remains well regarded and is viewed as one for the future, yet a deal this month is considered improbable.
