Reds looking to close gap on Arsenal at top of Premier League
Liverpool ended their losing streak in midweek and they return to Premier League action against Brentford this weekend.
Arne Slot’s side lost four games in a row across all competitions, a run which started when they were defeated in the last minute by Crystal Palace last month.
A 1-0 loss at Galatasaray in the Champions League followed, before losing 2-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge thanks to Estevao Willian’s late winner.
The Reds were then stunned last weekend by Manchester United after Harry Maguire popped up in the 84th minute to steal all three points at Anfield.
However, Liverpool got back to winning ways in Germany on Wednesday night as they swept Eintracht Frankfurt aside 5-1, with Hugo Ekitike netting against his former club.
Brentford, meanwhile, are on a high after they earned their first win on the road under Keith Andrews on Monday night, beating West Ham 2-0 at the London Stadium.
In the Bees’ last home game, they lost narrowly to Manchester City but do have a victory over Manchester United and a draw with Chelsea to show for their efforts.
Brentford vs Liverpool is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
The match will take place at the Gtech Community Stadium, west London.
TV channel: In the UK, the game will be televised live on TNT Sports. Coverage starts at 7pm BST on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate ahead of the 8pm kick-off.
Live stream: TNT Sports subscribers can also catch the contest live online via the Discovery+ app and website.
Live blog: You can follow all the action on matchday via Standard Sport’s live blog!
Free highlights: The Sky Sports app and YouTube channel will show highlights shortly after the final whistle with Match of the Day broadcasting on BBC One at 10.25pm BST.
Alexander Isak was taken off against Frankfurt as a precautionary measure, with the Swede feeling his groin and is a “question mark” to face the Bees.
The same applies to Ryan Gravenberch, who missed the trip to Germany after suffering an ankle knock against Manchester United.
Jeremie Frimpong will not feature in west London because of a hamstring injury, Alisson Becker is not ready for a return and Giovanni Leoni is out long-term with an ACL rupture.
As for the hosts, Aaron Hickey could return to action after suffering a slight setback on international duty with Scotland.
Meanwhile, midfielders Antoni Milambo and Paris Maghoma are both sidelined, with Milambo out for the campaign with his own ACL injury, and Maghoma on the comeback trail from a thigh injury. He is currently training with Brentford’s B team.

The Bees are a tricky customer at home, and they have been a mixed bag in Andrews’ first few games at the helm.
Liverpool, despite putting in an impressive performance against Frankfurt, have looked disjointed in recent weeks, and with the absence of a number of key players, that could have an effect on them.
That said, they should have enough quality to defeat Brentford, although it will be a tough test.
