The World Cup winner hasn’t been out of the headlines since Chelsea’s 8-2 aggregate defeat to PSG in the Champions League.
Fernandez was hit with a two match ban for comments he made during the international break about his future, and he’ll serve the final match of that ban against Manchester City on Sunday.
There had been reports players had asked Rosenior to overturn the ban, but that was denied by the Chelsea head coach in his press conference on Friday.
Fernandez has apologised to Rosenior, his team-mates and the club, and is expected to return next weekend against Manchester United.
However, Rosenior has suggested that’s not 100% the case as he gave a cryptic response when asked about Fernandez’s participation in that game.
It has been reported the priority for Fernandez is to extend his deal, and Romano has provided an update on the situation.
“Chelsea and Enzo have not been able to agree on the numbers of the new contract salary since last December,” he told his YouTube channel.
“They will talk again but if nothing can be agreed then, we will obviously have to see in the summer what could happen.”
