Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given a Chelsea transfer update ahead of the January transfer window.

With the winter window now just around the corner, there will be plenty of transfer rumours doing the rounds and The Blues are always going to be involved in stories.

We covered a story just yesterday on Chelsea being interested in signing a Premier League right back, joining Barcelona and Manchester City with their interest in the rising talent.

But of course, most of the talk right now is still about the games we are playing in the Premier League, with our recent victory over Wolves still fresh in our minds. Enzo Maresca mentioned Malo Gusto as being a very important player for Chelsea after his fine display in that game.

Back to the transfer news now though because as I say, we have the January window coming up fast. But Romano doesn’t seem to think that much will be going on at Chelsea this winter.

Fabrizio Romano talks about Chelsea’s Alejandro Garnacho chase.

Asked whether Chelsea will look to sign a defender in January, reporter Romano has said, via GiveMeSport on YouTube: “At the moment it is very quiet. Chelsea are happy with their squad and are not seeking any player and have not started any conversations with any new centre-back for the January window. Chelsea are always monitoring the market, we know that. They are always attentive to opportunities. They also felt last summer in August that there was probably no player available on the market for Chelsea who could make an impact.”
