In the past few hours, several Italian newspapers have reported alleged statements by Todd Boehly, Chelsea president, regarding Jadon Sancho, who recently joined Aston Villa from Manchester United.

According to the reports, the Blues’ president explained the reasons for the player’s failure to redeem him, citing the English winger’s unprofessional behavior off the pitch.

Fabrizio Romano took to Instagram to clarify the matter, calling the quotes attributed to Boehly “completely false.”

“The Chelsea president,” the journalist continued, “has never given any interviews to Italian newspapers about Sancho nor publicly commented on his situation.”

The reported statements—including references to unexcused training absences and his alleged disruptive private life—have been firmly denied. Romano reiterated that they were fabricated and never uttered by the Blues manager.
