Corinthians learn details of Carlos Barbosa clashes in LNF last 16

Corinthians learned on Monday, 29th, the details of the round of 16 of the National Futsal League (LNF) against Carlos Barbosa. The first match is scheduled for October 12, a Sunday, at 11 am, at the Centro Sérgio Luiz Guerra Gymnasium in Carlos Barbosa. The return match will be on October 17, Friday, at 8:30 pm, at the Wlamir Marques Gymnasium.

Timão reached this stage after finishing the first phase of the championship in sixth position, achieving its best campaign in this stage since 2019. That year, the team finished in second place, but during the knockout stage, they fell by the wayside, failing to win the competition title.

In the following year, in the 2020 edition, Corinthians also finished the LNF in sixth place – however, the format of that league edition was different, with only 12 matches, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This time, the position in the first phase was achieved with the competition taking place in the traditional formats of recent years.

It's worth remembering that Corinthians is seeking to win its third LNF title, after winning the competition in 2016 and 2022. If they beat Carlos Barbosa and advance to the quarterfinals, they will face the winner of the clash between Magnus and Santo André, having the advantage of deciding at home only if the second team qualifies.
