Corinthians Women's coach shares hopes ahead of Copa Libertadores debut

On the afternoon of this Wednesday, October 1st, Corinthians concluded their preparations for the debut in the Women's Copa Libertadores. The Brabas will debut this Thursday, the 2nd, against Dragonas Independiente del Valle-EQU, at Estadio Florencio Sola, in Banfield, Argentina, starting at 4 PM (Brasília time). The match is part of the first round of Group A, where the Corinthians team is the top seed.

In a video released on Corinthians TV, coach Lucas Piccinato spoke about the team's expectations for the match: “Very good, for the debut of a major competition. A great opponent, Ecuadorian champion, a team that reached the Libertadores semifinals last year, an opponent that hasn't lost in a long time, and we will have to play a very coherent game, with a lot of physical duels so that we can take the first step in our journey in the Libertadores.”

He also revealed behind-the-scenes details of the delegation after arriving in the neighboring country. “I called everyone here to reserve this initial moment of our first work here in Argentina. We say a prayer thanking for this moment, thanking for experiencing the Libertadores once again, for those who are experiencing it again and for those who are experiencing this special moment for the first time,” he said.

Lucas concluded by talking about the privilege of competing in the tournament: “Experiencing all of this here is always a pleasure, living this moment, whether it's your third Libertadores, as in my case, or the first, as is the case for many, or the tenth, as is the case for some, it's always a huge pleasure. And we hope, obviously, as a group, that we can mark another Libertadores with another title.”
