According to Globo.com, referee Raphael Claus recorded in his match report an incident involving a ball boy and Palmeiras forward Ramon Sosa during celebrations of the visitors’ winning goal on Sunday.
Before the goal, Palmeiras head coach Abel Ferreira was sent off by Claus for clapping in ironic protest at a decision.
The celebration itself sparked confrontation on the pitch. Flaco López kicked the corner flag and Corinthians players and staff moved in to remonstrate, after which the striker was shown a yellow card.
In his report to the Federação Paulista de Futebol, Claus wrote that at the 85th minute he expelled Alessandro da Silva, identified as a ball boy, for kicking Sosa’s leg amid the commotion.
Palmeiras won 1-0, securing early qualification for the Paulistão knockout stage. Corinthians remain in the qualifying places but must beat São Bernardo on the final matchday to avoid relying on other results.
