Manchester United have completed a deal to sign highly rated midfielder David Eze from local rivals Manchester City.

Attacking Football sources understand that the deal is done, with the Dublin-born 16-year-old set to leave City and continue his development at Manchester United’s Carrington academy.

Eze is considered one of the standout midfielders of his generation. Tall, powerful and confident in possession, he has established a reputation as a complete modern box-to-box midfielder.

The youngster is capable of driving forward with the ball, escaping pressure and breaking opposition lines. He is also a sharp distributor, contributes consistently without the ball and has demonstrated impressive leadership qualities for his age.

David Eze is Ready

Eze has already featured several times at under-17 level and captained England’s under-16 side on multiple occasions.

Despite representing England at youth level, Eze retains strong ties to Ireland. The midfielder was born in Dublin and moved from Clondalkin to Manchester at the age of six, while his father continues to live in Ireland.

He is understood to be extremely proud of his Irish roots and would be open to representing the Republic of Ireland should the opportunity arise.
