El Shaarawy expected to start vs Lecce

On the eve of the match against Lecce, scheduled for tomorrow at 6:00 PM, Gian Piero Gasperini is dealing with a serious emergency, with suspensions, injuries, and the Africa Cup of Nations.

With eight players unavailable, the coach is forced to reshuffle his squad and, according to Sky Sport’s Angelo Mangiante, has decided to rely on Stephan El Shaarawy.

The winger will return to the starting lineup to try and inject some energy into a struggling attack.

The list of absentees is long: Mancini and Hermoso will be suspended in defense, as will Ndicka, who is playing in the Africa Cup of Nations. El Aynaoui, who is also away on international duty, will continue to be absent in midfield.

Bailey, Pellegrini, and Baldanzi are also injured, as is backup goalkeeper Gollini, who has been sidelined by a muscle injury.
