The finalised Ballon d’Or rankings for 2025 have now emerged including the final placings for Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Ballon d’Or awards remain arguably the pinnacle of individual achievement in world football, celebrating those who have defined the season through moments of individual brilliance, consistency, and game-changing influence for their clubs and nations.
As ever, the 2025 edition has been shaped by an intense debate over attacking dominance, midfield mastery, and the growing recognition of elite goalkeepers throughout the game over the course of the last 12 months.
For Manchester City and their supporters, the annual ceremony has become a familiar stage, with Pep Guardiola’s stars consistently featuring in the upper rankings over the last half-decade.
From Kevin De Bruyne’s repeated acknowledgements to Erling Haaland’s rise into the conversation after his record-breaking debut season in England, all culminating in their first-ever triumph for the Ballon d’Or award with Rodri receiving the 2024 edition of the trophy.
This year, focus has broadened with City’s newest goalkeeping arrival having been afforded heightened recognition following a standout campaign with Paris Saint-Germain, while Haaland continues to set new benchmarks for productivity at the very highest level.
Now, following confirmation from the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris on Monday evening, it has been revealed that Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has placed 26th, while goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma ranked in 9th position.
