Kellen Fisher's performances for the Yellows has continued to attract top-flight suitors

Norwich City's season has been one of extremely mixed fortunes, albeit supporters at Carrow Road can certainly envisage a brighter future under the long-term management of Philippe Clement.

After missing out on the Championship play-offs last season under Johannes Hoff Thorup, the Carrow Road hierarchy initially looked to hometown head coach, Liam Manning, as the man who could replicate his top six berth with divisional rivals, Bristol City, in East Anglia.

However, as proved to be the case with the aforementioned Hoff Thorup, Manning lasted just a matter of months into a four-year contract with the Yellows, leaving Mark Attanasio with no choice but to part ways with the current Huddersfield Town boss and replace him with the ex-Rangers, AS Monaco and Club Brugge chief in the November international break, with the Canaries staring a potential relegation into League One for the first time since 2010 firmly in the face.

Since his appointment, though, Clement has overseen a relative upsurge from his youthful side despite an unfortunate injury crisis that has seen the likes of top scorer, Jovon Makama, sidelined for a lengthy period of time, whilst also having to contend with the high-profile transfer saga surrounding USMNT international striker, Josh Sargent, who finally completed his anticipated switch to Major League Soccer outfit, Toronto FC, on Friday afternoon.

Whilst Norwich are, by no means, mathematically safe from relegation danger at this moment in time, many would debate that Clement's new-look side have done enough to ensure survival barring a major regression in the season's final weeks, with clubs below them such as West Bromwich Albion currently managerless and in a dismal run of form.

As such, there will be hope that the Belgian can retain the services of many of his key assets for some time in a bid to help City push up the table. However, that might not fully be the case according to fresh transfer speculation.

That's because, according to a report from TEAMtalk, as many as seven Premier League sides are monitoring the situation of the Canaries' highly-rated full-back, Kellen Fisher.

Fisher was recruited by the Norfolk outfit from Bromley in the summer of 2023 under David Wagner, and has since gone on to make 89 appearances for the club, posting six assists.

The defender has now featured in over 30 league outings across both of the past two seasons, and was rewarded for his fine breakthrough at Carrow Road with a long-term contract until 2028 in September 2024.

Fisher, an England youth international, attracted interest from both Everton and Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, and the aforementioned report has stated that the Toffees looked at striking a deal in January for the 21-year-old.

However, it has also been claimed that David Moyes' side, who view him as a potential replacement for Nathan Patterson, will face competition from six divisional rivals in the form of Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham.

The highly-rated prospect has continued to impress this season whilst also featuring at left-back and in an advanced position on his natural right-side, as well as right-back.

Kellen Fisher could make Norwich City serious money in the summer transfer window

Whilst no valuation claim has been made, it is clear that Fisher has the potential to make Norwich a serious amount of profit in the upcoming window.

With the defender still having two years left on his contract by the time the summer window opens, it is City who continue to hold the majority of bargaining power when negotiating a price point.

Interest from one Premier League club is sometimes enough for a sizeable fee to be commanded, but with seven in total looking to lure Fisher to their respective projects, it will also satisfy the higher-ups in East Anglia, as a bidding war could allow them to drive the price up even further.
