Josh Maja is reportedly set to join Ligue 1 side Le Havre after his West Brom exit. Express & Star reports that the 27-year-old has agreed a free transfer and is expected to sign a two-year deal with an option for another season.
West Brom had been keen to keep the Nigeria international, with head coach James Morrison confirming in May that fresh terms were offered. Maja chose to move on after three injury-disrupted years.
Signed from Bordeaux in 2023, he scored 19 goals in 81 appearances for Albion. His second season was his strongest, finishing as the club’s top scorer with 12 despite missing the entire second half of the campaign through injury.
He ended last term with three goals in his final nine outings, netting against Wrexham, Watford and Preston as West Brom took seven points from those games.
The forward came through Sunderland’s academy, striking 17 times in the first half of the 2018-19 season before a January switch to Bordeaux.
He later had a loan spell at Fulham, scoring three Premier League goals, before returning to France. Le Havre are coached by former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard and finished 14th in Ligue 1 last season.
