FC Barcelona want to be as involved as possible in this summer’s transfer window. For the Catalan giants, it is an opportunity to reinforce their squad in time for next season. However, to do that, Barcelona will need to address some urgent matters.

First came the player renewals, and they were integral to Barça’s plans for the future. With Raphinha’s contract extended early on, Barcelona were quick to do the same with Lamine Yamal and the youngster’s contract has now been renewed until 2031 as well.

However, with signings now being considered such as Joan Garcia, Barcelona need to work their way around their financial reality. It is important for the Catalan giants to address both arrivals and departures simultaneously, and it would help them balance their budget accordingly.

Barcelona defender attracts major European interest

According to our sources, one player who is generating a lot of attention in recent days is Barcelona left-back Gerard Martin. Following a strong season under the guidance of Hansi Flick, the Spaniard has attracted interest from England, Portugal, and Germany.

Three Premier League clubs in particular are keen on the player. These three teams include Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace, and West Ham. Previously, a report was covered on the interest from Wolves as well.

English clubs could pay a good fee for him

For the €7.5 million-rated defender, as per his Transfermarkt valuation, this interest will definitely be something to consider. Given the fact that Alejandro Balde remains the first-choice Barcelona left-back for the future, Martin’s involvement mostly depends on Balde’s availability.

Moreover, clubs such as SL Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the player’s services. In terms of an exact amount, however, our sources believe that Wolves and West Ham would be willing to offer around €10-12 million for the 23-year-old Barcelona defender.
