According to a report from Defensa Central, it has been learned that following Real Madrid’s 3-1 win over Villarreal at the Santiago Bernabeu, club president Florentino Perez personally congratulated Vinicius Jr. for his outstanding performance.
It must be noted that the victory, achieved last night, helped the Los Blancos bounce back after last week’s 2-5 defeat to Atletico Madrid, putting them back in contention at the top of La Liga.
Real Madrid dominated from the start, but Villarreal’s defensive organisation under Marcelino García Toral made it difficult to break the deadlock.
It was Vinicius Jr.’s determination, skill, and unpredictability that eventually dismantled the Yellow Submarine’s defence in the second half.
The Brazilian winger scored two goals, won a penalty, and came close to earning another, while also influencing the sending-off of Santiago Mourino in the 76th minute.

Florentino Perez, who watched the match from the stands, made his way to the locker room after the game to congratulate the players.
However, he made a point to speak directly to Vinicius Jr., praising his decisive impact.
“It was your best game of the year,” Florentino told the Brazilian, recognising how he had driven Villarreal’s defence crazy and delivered a game-changing performance.
The president’s words highlight the importance of Vinicius to Real Madrid’s title ambitions amidst the chaos surrounding his lack of prominence after Kylian Mbappe’s arrival.
His performance against Villarreal not only secured three points but also sent a message about his ability to rise to big occasions.
With this display, Vinicius reinforces his status as one of the team’s most influential players and a key figure in Madrid’s push for domestic and European glory.
