Lucas Veríssimo, formerly of Benfica, remains in Doha with his family as flight disruption linked to Middle East tensions delays his return to Brazil to join Santos.
According to Glorioso 1904, the escalation has prompted cancellations and changes to several routes, complicating departures for foreign travellers heading elsewhere.
Brazil’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring developments. Santos are waiting for clarity on when the defensive recruit will be available.
On social media, the player’s wife said the family plan to travel together and are waiting for a safe option that would allow them to leave Qatar.
There is currently no confirmed date for his arrival in Brazil.
His Benfica stint was short but notable, as he impressed before a serious knee injury and earned a Brazil call-up. He spent more than 320 days recovering from a partial ligament tear, and played 41 games, scoring five goals with two assists.
