Santos have no clear timeline for Lucas Veríssimo’s return, with the defender stranded with his family after regional airspace closures. According to Globo.com, the club remain in contact but feel powerless to act, and Brazil’s foreign ministry is handling the case.

Flights in Dubai, where Veríssimo is with his wife, children and a staff member, are resuming gradually, with no firm date for Brazilians.

The conflict between Iran, the United States and Israel began last week and has no stated end, so it is not possible to say when a safe exit for Brazilians from Dubai will be arranged.

His wife, Amanda, has posted a detailed account on social media and said the family will leave Qatari soil only together. Any accelerated return would therefore require seats for accompanying relatives.

Veríssimo, 30, is seen as the final piece of Santos’s squad for the first half of the year. The club are prepared to pay R$ 25 million in annual instalments from December 2026 to 2029 to keep the defender.

He has played in Qatar since 2024, leaving Corinthians for Al-Duhail, and was loaned to Al-Wakrah this year.
