Four Premier League players feature in the most valuable current team in world football.
Transfermarkt.co.uk has released its most valuable current XI, with the price tags of players judged on various factors that include age, contract length, future prospects, performances for club and country, and marketing value.
La Liga dominate the team with six players, including Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal. The winger’s €200m (£173m) valuation is the highest on the site’s metic. Real Madrid and Barcelona are both well represented and each have three players in the side.
That includes Trent Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid from Liverpool for just £8.4m during thie summer’s transfer windiw.
Erling Haaland (€180m/£156m) is the highest-valued Premier League player and one of four English-based players in the XI.
Manchester City teammate Josko Gvardiol (€75m) is joined in defence by Arsenal centre-back William Saliba (€80m). New Liverpool signing Florian Wirtz, signed for a British record this summer, is included in midfield.
There is, however, no place for Ballon d’Or holder Rodri, or Premier League Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah.
Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa is the only player from outside of Europe’s top five leagues to make the most valuable team.
