Frank McCourt says Marseille not for sale as he addresses supporter unrest

Frank McCourt told Marseille’s supporter leaders that a sale is not on the agenda, during a meeting at La Commanderie on Tuesday.

According to RMC Sport, the American owner was disappointed by banners at Saturday's match at the Vélodrome, and he restated both his financial backing and personal attachment to the project.

He appealed for fans' backing and the exchange was characterised as calm and constructive.

Supporter groups raised long-running instability, citing managerial changes, executive reshuffles and frequent squad turnover. They also lamented a perceived loss of identity and emotional connection.

Benatia argued that consistent UEFA Champions League qualification would bring greater stability. McCourt urged the squad to chase a podium finish and to target Coupe de France success.
