Manchester United skipper Bruno Fernandes is reportedly “unhappy” with a Ruben Amorim decision that currently appears to be sending the campaign into turmoil.

United’s woes increase

United suffered a second league defeat of the season on Sunday, as they were beaten by cross-town rivals Manchester City 3-0.

The loss has left United languishing in 14th place, with just one top-flight victory to their name after playing four games.

With just four points from as many games, it is statistically the Red Devils’ poorest start to a league campaign since 1992/93 under the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ruben Amorim, who has won just eight of the 31 Premier League games he has taken charge of since replacing Erik ten Hag in the Old Trafford dugout, is under immense pressure to overturn a drastic uptick in performances and results.

Earlier on Monday, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the United hierarchy is still backing Amorim.

This has been corroborated by Chris Wheeler of the Daily Mail, who however claims that a number of players are already growing frustrated with Amorim’s refusal to adjust his methods.

Wheeler notes that Fernandes, in particular, is unhappy with his current role, which has largely seen him deployed deeper, where his influence is significantly diminished.

Fernandes is frustrated

Wheeler says, “The players are still struggling to get to grips with Amorim’s style almost 11 months after he took over, and even one of his staunchest allies, captain Bruno Fernandes, is believed to be unhappy operating in a deeper midfield role.”

“United sources say it would be wrong to suggest that Amorim has lost the dressing-room, and insist he still has support among the squad.”

It’s understood that players are beginning to lose faith in Amorim’s approach, with certain members of the squad never fully buying into it.

United are back in action on Saturday when they host Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.
