Fukushima United announce signing of 58-year-old Kazuyoshi Miura

Japanese veteran striker Kazuyoshi Miura is set to continue his incredible football into a 40th season after Fukushima United announced the signing of the 58-year-old.
"I am delighted to announce my transfer to Fukushima United FC, where I shall embark upon a new challenge," Miura said about his move to the club that finished 10th in the J3 League last season.
"First and foremost, I pledge to give my utmost effort on the pitch to contribute to the team, for the players, staff, fans, supporters, partner companies, and the entire Fukushima community.
"My passion for football remains undiminished, regardless of my age.
"I am profoundly grateful for this opportunity to play in Fukushima and will compete fiercely as a member of Fukushima United FC. Let us build a new history together!"
Miura began his career in Brazil back in 1986, featuring for the likes of Santos and Coritiba before returning to Japan.
The former international also had stints in Italy, Croatia, and Australia and even as recently as 2023, plying his trade in Portugal with Oliveirense. Miura even represented his country in another sport, featuring in the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup.
