Under Habib Beye, Stade Rennais have had a middling start to their season and currently sit mid-table. However, it is not only the results that see Beye’s position come under threat, but also his management of the dressing room. Foot Mercato understands that the former Red Star manager may have already lost the confidence of some key players.

As per the publication, Beye’s decision to hook Djaoui Cissé early on (29th minute) in the 0-0 draw to RC Lens at the end of September did not land well with the squad, and it has subsequently damaged the relationship between the young Frenchman and the manager.

As well as questions pertaining to Beye’s player management at Rennes, there are also doubts about the tactics that he is deploying. Foot Mercato understands that captain Valentin Rongier and Hans Hateboer both have misgivings about Beye’s tactical choices.

Beye not only needs to improve results and performances, he may also need to extend an olive branch.
