Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi addressed the media after a dramatic UEFA Champions League win against Young Boys.

During a post-match talk with Italian broadcaster Prime, as reported by FCInterNews, the Nerazzurri boss delivered his verdict on a fiercely contested game at the Stadion Wankdorf.

Artificial turf took its toll on Inzaghi’s players, especially in the opening half an hour of play.

“We were in the Champions League, and we’ve seen that all the games are challenging,” Inzaghi said after the game.

“Recent Italian teams here had struggled, and it’s not easy to play on this pitch.

“At times we lost our positioning, but we had many chances to win. The team showed great heart, and we deserved the victory.”

Inzaghi reacted to his substitutes winning the game at the death.

“It simply means they came on well, just like those in Rome did on Sunday. I have a well-equipped squad, although we have a few absences.

“With seven close games ahead, we need to be good at recovering our energy because we’re about to face a tough stretch.”

Inter had to make do without Hakan Calhanoglu. And his absence was harshly felt.
