Jhon Arias is not planning a return to Brazilian football for now, despite links with Flamengo. ESPN reports that Palmeiras have also checked on the Wolverhampton player, but no formal bid has been made as clubs wait on his stance.

Wolverhampton paid 17 million euros plus 5 million euros in add-ons to sign Arias. The English club want to recoup part of the R$ 110 million outlay.

Fluminense hold first option on any return to Brazil. Flamengo or Palmeiras would therefore need to overcome competition from the Laranjeiras side to land the Colombian.

Flamengo’s priority is Lucas Paquetá. The West Ham player wants to return to Brazil and is in advanced talks with Flamengo, with a meeting scheduled with the English club on Friday 16.

Flamengo have already agreed two signings for 2026. Defender Vitão, previously at Internacional, has arrived to reinforce Filipe Luís’ defence, and Andrew is the new goalkeeper.
