Julian Brandt future at Dortmund remains undecided after talks

Julian Brandt says no decision has been made on extending his Borussia Dortmund contract, which runs out this summer.

“It’s clear that we’re talking to each other. That has already happened, but so far there’s nothing new. It’s neither the case that we’re close to an agreement nor that anything has been decided,” he told Ruhr Nachrichten.

The 29-year-old scored in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Wolfsburg.

“To be honest, I’m also taking a bit of time. But this won’t drag on until June or July. That’s not my style. It’s a fundamental decision and it has to be carefully thought through,” he said.

It has been reported that Dortmund made him an offer in mid-November, which he is still considering. He has been at the club since 2019, recording 56 goals and 68 assists in 292 appearances.
