Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Cedric Kaze has set the record straight on his and Khalil Ben Youssef's coaching credentials amid murmurs of discontent on their appointment.
The pair was tasked with leading the team for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign after the club and head coach Nasreddine Nabi parted ways via mutual agreement.
Amakhosi drew their first match under the co-coaches' watchful eye as they played to a goalless stalemate with AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup last Saturday.
With a section of Chiefs' fanbase unhappy with the hierarchy's decision to entrust Kaze and Ben Youssef to steer the ship, the Burundian tactician cleared the air on their competence to oversee proceedings at Naturena.
“We know what we are doing, we are very optimistic for the team. We have the experience, I have been a head coach at a big club like Yanga, Khalil has been working for 16 years,” Kaze asserted.
"I have been in the national team, playing AFCON, World Cup qualifiers, playing Champions League with clubs, Confederations Cup, which means that we know the tricks of Africa.
"We know the tricks of every game, the mindset of every game and with the support of everyone here - we know that we can achieve big things.
Chiefs will swing back to action with a Betway Premiership clash against Siwelele FC at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, with both teams eager to return to winning ways in the league.
