Kane: 'Another step in the right direction'

It was a thoroughly successful evening for FC Bayern, who claimed a deserved 3-0 win in Saturday evening’s heavyweight Bundesliga clash away to Eintracht Frankfurt. Harry Kane, who had been substituted off late on, also gave the injury all-clear. The top goal scorer said: "Give it a few days, then everything should be fine again. There should be no problem for the national team." Unsurprisingly, captain Manuel Neuer’s summary was also a positive one. The veteran custodian declared: "Today was a confident away win. Whenever we defended in the box, we were never really under threat. We handled that excellently." fcbayern.com has all of the post-match reaction for you.

Reaction to the match at Eintracht Frankfurt

Christoph Freund (sporting director): "It was already a very good result in the first half. At 2-0, the way the game had been going was perfect for us at that point. I think in the second half, we had much more control of the game, hardly allowed anything, and only conceded one or two minor chances."

Vincent Kompany: "We did very well today and were very solid. The energy was good, and the boys helped one another a lot in many moments, especially defending inside the box. In the second half, that joy in our play and our forward energy returned. That always gives us a strong foundation. We always try to deliver our best performances. We won, and that simply makes me happy. Today, praise should also go to Lucho Díaz. From the very first minute, he was right at it and fully involved, even after he scored. That kind of energy and hunger lifts the entire team. These are exactly the kind of players you need, who bring that week after week."

Manuel Neuer: "That’s our tenth win in a row, and of course, we’re still wondering what more we can do to improve. That’s always the focus: how do we keep developing, and who’s our next opponent? We keep looking ahead, preparing carefully, and thinking about what we can take from each game, where there’s still room to grow, but of course, we also recognise what went well. Today was a very assured performance away from home. Whenever we defended inside the box, we were never really under threat. We handled that excellently. Going forwards, we built up from the back well in the first half and made the most of our counter-attacks in the second. The third goal was a prime example of how we can transition quickly from defence to attack and finish clinically. Right now, there’s a real feeling of confidence about us. Our passages of play are becoming ever clearer. No matter who starts or comes off the bench, everyone knows exactly what’s expected of them. That makes a huge difference - our gears are in motion, and we can help each other out more effectively on the pitch."

Harry Kane: "I’ll be recovering for now. I took a bit of a knock. Give it a few days, then everything should be fine again. There should be no problem for the national team. I’ll be there on Monday. It was another really strong team performance today. In the first half, getting that 2-0 lead was important, even if our play on the ball wasn’t outstanding. In the second half, we picked up the tempo, stayed more compact, and created more chances. We probably could’ve killed the game off earlier. But scoring three away and keeping a clean sheet - that’s another step in the right direction. I think the team’s improving week on week. Wins give you energy, and we’ve got to hold on to that. The feeling in the squad is clear: we want to keep pushing, and you could see that again today."

Jonathan Tah: "We’re trying to keep improving week on week, learning from every game, and taking another step forward each time. I think you could really see that today. It’s not easy to come here and put in a performance like that. It’s always tough - they’re a good side, the atmosphere is intense, and they make it hard for you. We didn’t start the game well; the first five to ten minutes weren’t ideal. But after that, we grew into it more and more. The second half was played at a really high level – both on and off the ball we were simply excellent. That’s exactly how we want to keep going."

Reaction from Eintracht Frankfurt

Markus Krösche (managing director): "Whenever you play Bayern, you need things to go your way. Looking back at the first half, that clearly wasn’t the case for us today. If you go behind after just 15 seconds and then have your equaliser ruled out, it’s always going to be tough. Especially with the form they’re in right now, Bayern are on another level. They’ve got tremendous quality - both in and out of possession. If you’re to compete, you need to be at your absolute best, which we weren’t today, and you also need the balance of the game to tip in your favour, and that was missing for us too."

Nathaniel Brown (defender): "Bayern make it very hard for you, of course, and conceding a goal after just 20 or 30 seconds is a hard pill to swallow. They’re incredibly mobile, have immense quality, and always manage to set themselves up perfectly against every opponent. That’s the big challenge with them – they seem to win most of their duels."
