It actually seemed as though the Minjae Kim situation at FC Bayern had already been settled. After the South Korean had long been considered a candidate for a transfer, the Munich club recently changed its stance and is once again counting on the center back. Nevertheless, there is still interest from the Premier League.
As reported by the website Transferfeed, Manchester United is once again considering signing the 29-year-old. According to the report, the Red Devils are closely monitoring the Bayern defender’s situation and scouting the market for potential defensive reinforcements.
However, there are reportedly no concrete talks between the clubs or with the player at this time. Rather, Kim is considered one of several options should Manchester United fail to find a suitable candidate on its wish list as the transfer window progresses.
The situation at FC Bayern has changed significantly recently. According to information from Sky, Kim now once again enjoys the full confidence of the club’s management. Vincent Kompany, in particular, holds the South Korean in high regard and recently praised him publicly as the epitome of a professional, someone who always displays the right attitude in training and in matches.
The player himself also feels at home in Munich, despite the strong competition at center back. Although Kim is currently only the third option behind Jonathan Tah and Dayot Upamecano, the center back recently made it clear that he is satisfied with his situation at the German record champions.

A sale is not entirely out of the question, however. According to Sky, Bayern would only consider a transfer if an exceptionally high offer were made. Kim is under contract through 2028 and continues to be highly valued at Säbener Straße.
If Manchester United were to actually get serious toward the end of the transfer window, the situation would become complicated for FC Bayern. The Munich club would have very little time left to sign a replacement of equal caliber for Kim.
That is precisely why a last-minute move seems rather unlikely at this point. While United is likely to continue monitoring the situation closely, there are currently no concrete signs of an imminent transfer. As things stand, there is every indication that Kim will continue to wear the Bayern Munich jersey next season—unless an exceptionally lucrative offer causes the club’s leadership to change their minds after all.
