West Ham hammered bottom-of-the-table Wolves 4-0 at home on Friday night to climb out of the relegation zone, pushing Tottenham into it for the first time this season.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the result has prompted a major shift in the bookmakers’ predicted final table.
The weekend began with West Ham third-bottom, one point behind Tottenham, three behind Nottingham Forest and four adrift of Leeds United.
After 41 minutes without a goal, braces from Taty Castellanos and Konstantinos Mavropanos sealed an emphatic victory for the Hammers.
Spurs are now two points behind West Ham, who are level with Forest and just one point behind Leeds, who visit Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.
Tottenham travel to Sunderland on Sunday afternoon in Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge, while Forest host Aston Villa at the same time, both 2pm kick-offs.
