Liga: Barça still without a home stadium?

After playing their first three La Liga matches away from home, FC Barcelona are now set to host Valencia on Matchday 4. The problem? The Blaugrana still don’t have an approved stadium for the occasion.

The most immediate option remains the Estadi Johan Cruyff, but that doesn’t solve everything. Barça also needs to plan for their next two home fixtures, against Getafe (September 21) and Real Sociedad (September 28). Faced with this logistical headache, the club could be forced to return to the Estadio Olímpico de Montjuïc, where they played for the past two seasons.

As for a return to Camp Nou, that’s looking increasingly unlikely. The renovation work has yet to receive the completion certificate for the first phase (27,000 seats) or the occupancy permit from Barcelona’s city council. La Liga has set a deadline of September 9 for Barça to announce where the clash with Valencia will be played.
