Thanks for joining us for tonight's Premier League coverage.
City move within three points of Arsenal with victory over Fulham, while Aston Villa and Liverpool boosted their top four hopes with respective wins against Brighton and Sunderland.
At the bottom, Burnley kept their very slim hopes of survival alive with an emphatic comeback win at Palace. Forest missed the chance to pull clear of the bottom three following a 0-0 draw with Wolves.
FULL TIME: Sunderland 0-1 Liverpool
Sunderland lose for the first time at the Stadium of Light this season. Van Dijk's towering header leads Liverpool to victory as the Reds move within three points of the top four.
CHANCE LIVERPOOL
Salah latches onto Jones' through ball and volleys a right-footed effort across the goalmouth.
Lutsharel Geertruida beats Mo Salah to a long ball forward but almost puts the ball into his own net in the process. Fortunately, the back pass ends up in the side-netting and the danger is averted.
Romaine Mundle takes a tumble in the area from Alexis MacAllister's challenge, but the host's protests are waved away.
Seven minutes of injury time to go. Will there be another goal at either end?
Liverpool fly forward to try and kill the game off. The ball falls to Curtis Jones on the edge of the area and he sends a curling effort just wide.
Just five minutes to go and Sunderland try to build a head of steam to claw back into this game.

Andy Robertson picks out Hugo Ekitike inside the area and the attacker headers wide from a promising position.

Another fruitful evening for City against Fulham.
Sunderland appeal for a penalty as Konate makes a big tackle on Brian Brobbey. There's no interest from the referee and play continues.
CHANCE LIVERPOOL
Liverpool are probing for a second and Hugo Ekitike reacts first to a lose ball inside the area, but lifts his shot just over the bar.
A frantic first half unfolded between Palace and Burnley.
More injury concerns for Liverpool here at right back as Wataru Endo is coming off on a stretcher.

Mo Salah sends the ball in, Virgil van Dijk flicks towards goal and it flies into the roof of the net.
CHANCE LIVERPOOL
Mo Salah works the ball onto his left foot and his goal-bound effort is deflected wide.
Sunderland keep the pressure on and Nordi Mukiele races into the Liverpool area and smashes a shot into the side-netting.
A tough night for Forest and Sean Dyche.
Into injury time at Selhurst Park as Palace push for a late leveller against Burnley.
FULL TIME: Aston Villa 1-0 Brighton
Jack Hinshlewood's late own goal boosts Villa's top four hopes, while Brighton remain winless in six consecutive league games.
CHANCE SUNDERLAND
Sunderland have come out with a much more positive approach in the second half and Trai Hume's rising shot flashes over the crossbar.
FULL TIME: Man City 3-0 Fulham
City's first half triple did the damage and the Citizens close out the win to move three points behind league leaders Arsenal, who play at Brentford tomorrow.
FULL TIME: Forest 0-0 Wolves
Forest miss a tonne of chances and have to settle for a frustrating point. The Tricky Trees remain just three points above the relegation zone.
SECOND HALF
Sunderland vs Liverpool resumes.
GOOOAL VILLA
It's an own goal in what could be the winner with just a few minutes remaining. Tyrone Mings gets up highest in a crowded penalty area and his header deflects off Jack Hinshlewood and into the net.
Just the 31 attempts for Forest against Wolves so far...
BIG CHANCE PALACE
Daichi Kamada is left completely unmarked to meet Munoz's cross, but the midfielder heads into the side-netting from a few yards out.
DOUBLE SAVE!
More opportunities for Forest against Wolves, but Igor Jesus and Morato are both denied by last-ditch saves by Jose Sa.
HALF TIME: Sunderland 0-0 Liverpool
Liverpool went close through Wirtz, who tested Roefs and hit the post. Sunderland had little to shout about in that half, though.
No penalty for that one on Brobbey.
PENALTY APPEAL SUNDERLAND
Brian Brobbey is tripped inside the area by Konate and VAR will have a look at this challenge.
Sunderland have a go just before the break and Enzo Le Fee almost finds Diarra inside the penalty area but the through ball had a touch too much power and the chance breaks down.

Liverpool start to generate attacking momentum and Wirtz dribbles into the area and prods a shot against the foot of the post.

Brighton have put the pressure on Villa in the second half and Ferdi Kadioglu's curling strike is tipped on to the crossbar by Emi Martinez.

Florian Wirtz works the first opening of the game and whips a shot towards the bottom corner. Robin Roefs reads it well and tips behind for a corner.

Morata gets up and heads towards goal, but his effort goes agonisingly wide.

Brighton nearly catch Villa on the counter and Karou Mitoma's shot bounces inches wide. A let off for the Villans.
Liverpool work the ball into Sunderland's area and the ball bounces off Omar Alderete and goes just wide.
SECOND HALF
The early kick-offs resume for the second half.
Very cagey in the opening 20 minutes at the Stadium of Light between Sunderland and Liverpool.
HALF TIME: Palace 2-3 Burnley
GOOAL BURNLEY!
It gets even better for Scott Parker's outfit as Bashir Humphrey's header is saved by Henderson, but the clearance rebounds off of Jefferson Lerma and bundles into the net.
GOOAL BURNLEY
Wow! Burnley have turned it around just before the break and Jaidon Anthony levels, cutting in from the left and beating Henderson at the near post.

The Clarets pull a goal back at Selhurst Park through Hannibal Mejbri's fierce right-footed strike that leaves Dean Henderson rooted.

CHANCE FULHAM
Raul Jimenez tees up Emile Smith-Rowe from a few yards out, but the midfielder can't get contact and the chance goes begging.
GOOAL CRYSTAL PALACE
Palace have been on top since the opener and Strand-Larsen gets a second. Lerma sends in an inviting cross and Strand-Larsen finishes with a diving header.
DISALLOWED GOAL
Forest finally find the net and Lorenzo Lucca finishes, but it's ruled out for offside.
GOOOAL MAN CITY
Erling Haaland gets in on the action. The Norwegian slams an unstoppable finish into the bottom corner from just outside the area. Clinical.

Forest will be wondering how they aren't ahead against Wolves. Lorenzo Lucca is left unmarked inside the area, but leans back and sends his shot well over the bar.

Nico O'Reilly finishes off an excellent City team move as Bernardo Silva feeds in the full-back who drills the finish past Leno.
GOAL PALACE
The Eagles' early pressure pays off and Jorgen Strand-Larsen gets his first goal for Palace. Adam Wharton releases Strand-Larsen and volleys into the net.
GOOAL MAN CITY
In-form Antoine Semenyo gets on the scoresheet again. Nunes' cross is deflected into the six-yard area and Semenyo reacts first to poke in the opener.
CHANCE VILLA
The Villans work the ball to dangerman Morgan Rogers, whose goal-bound shot is parried to safety by Bart Verbruggen.
CHANCE PALACE
Palace have dominated possession in the early stages and Tyrick Mithcell heads just wide from Daniel Munoz's cross.
