Liverpool have an opportunity to grab a £17m steal. It's just waiting for their confirmation.
Liverpool had a whirlwind summer but one that didn't end the way they hoped. Of course, they did get to celebrate Alexander Isak arriving as the most expensive player in British history.
But it was supposed to be more than that.

Liverpool tried to snap up Marc Guehi right at the death and appeared to have everything agreed. Crystal Palace had said yes to a fee, Guehi said yes to a contract, and a medical was done.
Only, Palace then pulled out at the last minute. It's thought that boss Oliver Glasner refused to sign off on the sale as the Eagles didn't have an adequate replacement.
But that certainly doesn't end the story. Guehi's contract expires in 2026 and Palace have one more chance to secure some sort of transfer fee for him.
So will Liverpool bite?
Reports in Spain suggest Guehi will now be available in January for around £17m. We've called that an 'extraordinary' price and it truly is.
Of course, it's actually £17m for six months of a player but even then, we think it's well worth it for Liverpool. For a few reasons, too.
Firstly, it gets you Guehi for the business end of the season. Liverpool hope to compete on several fronts and having the defender in for that period would be a blessing.
Almost certainly worth £17m on its own, in fact.
