Madonna says Celta Vigo’s missing shirt is in her archives | OneFootball

Madonna said in a post on X: “This shirt is hanging in my archives. I am wearing and representing your team in spirit.” She wore Celta Vigo’s shirt during a performance at their Balaidos stadium.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, club president Marian Mourino Terrazo issued an open letter this week seeking help to trace the top, calling it “a symbol of part of the emotional heritage of our club and what it stands for”. The Galician side are sixth in La Liga.

She appealed to the singer “for your help with something that means a great deal to us”. The letter recalled Madonna’s concert on 29 July 1990, when she wore the sky blue home shirt.

She wrote that the photograph has become a myth among supporters and now forms part of the club’s history, adding that the image’s significance has grown over time and that they still hope to recover the garment.

Before Friday’s home match against Real Madrid, Celta showed concert footage and staged a pitch performance of Like A Prayer with a band, dancers and singers.

Mourino ended by asking Madonna to make contact privately if she knew where the shirt might be.
