Madonna says Celta Vigo shirt from 1990 gig is 'in my archives' | OneFootball

Madonna, 67, said in a post on X that the Celta Vigo shirt she wore during a 1990 performance at Balaidos is “hanging in my archives”, adding she was representing the team in spirit.

The La Liga club’s president, Marian Mourino Terrazo, issued an open letter earlier this week seeking help to recover the shirt, calling it a symbol of the club’s emotional heritage.

The letter recalled that on 29 July 1990 Madonna performed live at Balaidos wearing Celta’s sky blue shirt, an image cherished by supporters and now seen as iconic.

Ahead of Friday’s home game against Real Madrid, the club played footage from the concert and staged a Like A Prayer tribute on the pitch with a band, dancers and singers.

The president appealed for help to trace the garment, inviting Madonna to get in touch by direct message if she knows its whereabouts.

Madonna, whose full name is Madonna Ciccone, is recognised by Guinness World Records as the bestselling female artist as of 2023, with 13 UK number one singles and 12 number one albums, and hits including Like A Virgin, Holiday and Into The Groove.
