Corinthians football executive Marcelo Paz has reiterated his support for head coach Dorival Júnior amid a four-match winless run and fan pressure.

According to Globo.com, Paz believes sticking with the project could lead to better results, played down any internal pressure on the coach, and described a harmonious day to day with daily dialogue.

Scrutiny grew after Wednesday’s defeat to Coritiba, when supporters inside Neo Química Arena protested and demanded greater commitment from the team.

On Friday morning, about 15 leaders of the club’s main organised groups visited CT Joaquim Grava after the penultimate session before facing Santos, speaking with players and directors about the team’s recent approach.

Dorival’s side have seven points, missed the chance to stay among the leaders, and slipped to 10th at the end of the fifth round of the Brasileirão. The derby at Vila Belmiro kicks off on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time.
