Mario Domínguez has found his scoring touch at a critical moment for Valencia Mestalla. According to Superdeporte, Valencia hold a three-year option on the striker and have not yet approached him or his agents with a first-team plan.
Once prolific in División de Honor, surpassing 20 goals, and an early senior debutant under José Bordalás, his rise stalled after a serious knee injury. He returned last season with five in 13 to regain rhythm.
He now has 11 in Segunda RFEF plus three in the Premier League International Cup. He has scored in the past four matches, underpinning six points for a side that had been in danger.
Against Girona B, Ibiza and Lleida he struck 1-1 equalisers to avoid defeat. In the 5-1 win over Terrassa at Antonio Puchades he added two more, the leveller and the go-ahead strike that set up the rout.
Beyond that run, his other six league goals have yielded points. Five rescued draws for Mestalla, and the other, in the first meeting with Girona B, was the 1-0 winner, taking his tally to 14 points from the team’s 35.
His form now forces a decision. With his deal nearing its end, he can speak to other clubs while awaiting Valencia's move. Interest is growing and, if they do not renew, he could leave as a free in a few months.
