Marseille’s 0-3 home defeat by Liverpool in the Champions League averaged 1.49 million viewers on Canal+, a share of 8.9%. According to L'Équipe, the channel ranked third for the evening.

TF1 led with the series Elsbeth on 2.42 million and 13.7%, ahead of France 2’s mini-series Il était deux fois on 2.07 million and 11.7%.

On Tuesday night, PSG’s 1-2 loss to Sporting Portugal drew 1.19 million viewers on Canal+Foot with a 7% share.

The season’s best Champions League audience so far was Real Madrid-OM on 16 September, which attracted 2.01 million and an 11.7% share on Canal+.

The eighth and final league-phase matchday is on Wednesday 28 January, with all fixtures kicking off at 21:00. Canal+, the exclusive broadcaster, will air a multiplex on its premium channel. PSG-Newcastle will be on Canal+ Foot, Club Bruges-Marseille on Canal+ Sport and Monaco-Juventus Turin on Canal+ Sport 360.
