Memphis Depay has indicated he is open to extending his Corinthians contract, stressing any decision will depend on the club’s conditions.

"Corinthians and I need to sit down at the table, I am very open. We need to discuss the balance of what is possible given the club’s situation, the board and the structure," he told Romário TV.

"Right now in Brazil you see other clubs spending a lot of money on players. Six or seven years ago they did not, they were not able to. When I say structure, I mean people who have a plan for 10, 15 years."

Depay’s current deal runs until 20 June 2026, a few days after the World Cup begins. Club and player intend to start discussions about his future only once the tournament is over.

It is not the first time he has addressed Corinthians’ structure, having even aimed criticism at directors after winning the Copa and Supercopa do Brasil.

He has also expressed affection for the club, comparing it with Manchester United and Barcelona, and has praised the Fiel.

For Corinthians he has played 70 games, with 55 starts, recording 38 wins, 14 draws and 18 defeats, plus 19 goals and 15 assists.
