Brest edged Metz 1-0, playing with ten from the 22nd minute as Coudert made six saves and Ludovic Ajorque netted the winner.
Kouao set the early tone with a driving run and a fine cross that Touré headed in the 10th minute. According to L'Équipe, Coudert and Hugo Magnetti were both marked seven, while Habib Diallo received three.
Guindo was sent off in the 22nd minute after a VAR review for a foul on Kouao. Bradley Locko entered in the 26th, replacing Junior Dina Ebimbe, and Tsitaichvili was booked on 51 minutes.
Coudert was largely untroubled until he denied Colin on 57 minutes, then Gbamin a minute later. At 0-0, Diallo headed tamely when unmarked on 66 minutes. Three minutes after that, Tsitaichvili lost possession and Ajorque finished, his third across his last two matches and his sixth overall.
Coudert then commanded his area and produced a final save in 90+5 to seal the points. Magnetti’s work-rate told, with 11 of 15 duels won, four of six tackles made and nine recoveries. For Metz, 16-year-old Believe Munongo was withdrawn at half-time for Giorgi Abuachvili, who also struggled to influence proceedings.
