Bayern Munich star Michael Olise has named a Chelsea player as the toughest one he has ever played against.
The quotes come out this week during the latest international break, and for a player like Olise to say that about you, then you know you must be doing something right.
Olise for me is one of the best all round wingers in the game right now and I was truly gutted when Chelsea fumbled a chance to sign him. The Blues were genuinely very close to signing Olise but somehow managed to mess it up in the final moments.
Apparently, news that came out around the story at the time put it down to Chelsea’s new wage structure killing the deal. But who actually knows what happened in this one and why it broke down. But either way, it was a real shame. On the plus side, as it states in this story, it did lead to Chelsea signing Cole Palmer instead – and we all know what a great signing that has been.

On his toughest opponent, Olise said:
“I’ve faced a lot of top players over the years but the toughest has to be Marc Cucurella.
“I’ve played against him a couple of times, and trust me, it’s never easy.”
This is such a compliment to Cucurella. We all know how much he has risen over the last couple of seasons and become one of Chelsea’s most important players.
He’s made himself an impossible defender to get past, and Olise has found that out himself recently. Cucurella has been superb for Chelsea and long may that continue.
